AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Technical Validations of the DVB-H
Three transmitters operating in SFN.
Each transmitter has a tunable ERP of 1000W max. on each site. The
area covered is the city of Metz and its outskirts. The platform
is dedicated to testing so that each transmitter can be powered
on or off on demand.
BROADCAST BAND AND
Channel 50, 706MHz
All parameters can be adjusted depending
on the tests to be performed. Typical parameters include QPSK 1/2
and 16QAM 1/2, MPE FEC 3/4, Time slice with various cycle times.
AMOUNT OF BANDWIDTH
USED FOR DVB-H
Full bandwidth allocation for DVB-H
or combined with DVB-T services. No hierarchical modulation.
H.263, MPEG4, H.264 and VC1 have all

Interoperability of equipment from
serveral vendors has been extensively tested. Main vendors are:
Thales, UDcast, Rohde & Schwarz, ProTelevision Technologies,
